As a destination wedding planner, we all have our favorite resorts at a destination. We love the perks, group amenities and wedding package inclusions our preferred resorts offer our wedding couples for their destination wedding.
As a Jamaican myself and have worked previously at resorts and for our national airline in Jamaica, I know the island of Jamaica very well. Whether you decide to get married at a resort on Negril 7 miles beach or Bloody Bay; or the city of Montego Bay that is always bubbling with nightlife 7 days a week or the fishing village of Ocho Rios, we can help. Did you say you wanted somewhere off the beaten path, then let’s get you married in Port Antonio where the flavor of jerk originated within the backdrop of the Blue Mountain and think about relaxing while you raft down the Rio Grande.
We recommend a legal wedding on the island of Jamaica as all that is required is a certified copy of your birth certificates, certified copy of your passports and driver’s license. Our couples are required to be on the island for forty eight hours before you can tie the knot. A legal wedding on the island of Jamaica is also recognized in the United States. A certified copy of your married certificate will be mailed to you in six weeks after your wedding ceremony on the island of Jamaica.
Some couples will have a symbolic wedding which we also refer to as a vow renewal on the island of Jamaica. Couples planning a vow renewal can arrive up to a day before on the island but we do prefer for couples to arrive 2 days before so you can have a walk through of the resort wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception venue before your big day.

Our second pick for the best perks and group amenities is the Royalton Negril & Hideaway at Royalton Negril. The resort is divided in two and is sold as 2 resorts, one side for family and one side for adults only. So couples and their guests have the best of both worlds. The resort’s Exclusive wedding package for 30 guests includes all the bells and whistles for every couple’s wedding. Iberostar Resorts
Our last preferred resort on the island of Jamaica is the Iberostar Resorts located 25 minutes from the Montego Bay Airport. The Iberostar resorts offer 4 wedding packages for couples to choose from for their destination wedding. Couples can choose the Star Package, the Morning Star, Jamaican Bliss or the Grand Celebration available exclusively at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Beach Resort. This is one of a few resorts that offers one wedding per day to couples so our couples and their guests are the centre of attention on their wedding day.
What’s also appealing is that couples can choose a resort based on guests budget as there are 3 resorts to choose from, the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Beach Resort for adults only, the Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suite for families and the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach for families on a budget.
