Black Owned Hotels Vacation

We often hear the term travel is universal. Travel allows us to experience different cultures and traditions in the destination we visit. Travel also allows us to see how diverse we are as a people yet similar in some aspects.  I am sure on every trip you have taken, there is one thing or place you can associate yourself with,  that is similar to your own culture and sometimes your own life experience. For example, on my trip to Tahiti, I saw breadfruit trees everywhere which was a surprise to me, as breadfruit is a staple widely eaten in Jamaica (my home country) with our national dish ackee and saltfish for breakfast.

As I traveled all over the world to learn more about cultures and learn life experiences in that native country; I am yet eager to learn more about black-owned hotels both local and international. You may wonder why this is? Some back owned hotels may not have the advertising budget when compared to the large hotel chains, and as such we often do not know of them as they are not widely advertised unless we research them for our stay.

As a Jamaican and owner of a travel agency that caters to all people looking to create amazing vacation memories, I want to take this opportunity to highlight a few black-owned hotels and resorts in the Caribbean and Florida. Some you may be familiar with and some you may not be. I look forward to visiting most of them on our list and had the opportunity to visit one of them on our list.

Here are a few black-owned hotels we would like to share with you:

Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada

Spice Island Beach Resort just steps away from Grand Anse Beach. The resort is a  tranquil haven that continues to be a treasured secret amongst the travel elite in St. George’s, Grenada. Facilities within the complex include a 24-hour reception desk, a currency exchange desk, a bar, and a popular Jamaican restaurant.
