Exquisite Vacations Travel

Best Trip to Morocco

Best Trip Ever to Morocco!

Can I say the best trip ever to Morocco!!

I recently took my first trip to Morocco and I was in for an amazing surprise! I was blown away by the architecture, the history of the country, the culture, the artistry, and the food!! Yes, I am a foodie!

Upon arrival in Casablanca, I was whisked away to view the stunning Hassan II Mosque showcasing its architectural beauty and design and a great place for photography. Your tour must be booked in advance as the mosque has scheduled prayer hours throughout the day where no tours can be accommodated during prayer time.

After my grand tour, it was time for lunch at the Four Seasons Casablanca. During lunch, I had my first Moroccan tea experience. After a short tour of the property, I was on my way to my lodging for the night in Rabat.

After a long day of travel, it was time to get some rest at my hotel for the nights at The  La Tour Hassan in Rabat. This hotel offers some amazing rooms and suites with views of the city, courtyard, and pool. They offer multiple dining options both indoor and outdoor overlooking the beautiful courtyard. I had another amazing Moroccan-style meal (family-style dinner) and the Tagine chicken did not disappoint.

Did you know Morocco is a big shopping destination? Yes, you can shop for just about anything and everything in this destination. I went shopping for Moroccan Kaftans at the medina in Fes! I love wearing traditional wear at the destinations I visit. At the end of my tour through the Fes medina, not only did I have a Moroccan kaftan, I purchased multiple scarfs, bags, pottery, spices, and the list goes on! Thank goodness for my bargaining skills, I never take the first price they offer! No bargaining skills, you will probably pay more for an item than what it is worth!

After all that shopping it was time to unwind a little and enjoy a wonderful dinner and wine tasting at the Chateau Roslane, a Relais & Châteaux property. This property offers the first winery in North Africa to be listed as a château viticole for the quality of its wines, blending contemporary decor with Spanish-Moorish architecture, and its rooms and suites overlooking the Middle Atlas Mountains, the perfect spot for enjoying breakfast with expansive views of vineyards and lavender fields.

Now it is time to head over to Marrakech and you can choose to fly for 45 minutes or take a scenic drive for about 3 hours. I chose to fly on Air Arabia and before you know it I was in Marrakech!

I was super excited about my stay was at the #1 Hotel in the World – the La Mamounia. The La Mamounia has been crowned the #1 Hotel in the World by the internationally renowned magazine Condé Nast Traveler. With only a 2 night stay, I had a tight window to experience it all! Upon check-in, I was taken to my well-appointed suite overlooking the gardens. My suite was stunning with lots of space for luggage, and just perfect for me with the amenities included! During my stay, I did a little shopping at the YSL Boutique, plus a visit to the YSL museum experienced a Hammam Massage, and a photoshoot at the resort! This is an instagramable paradise!

As I am in Morocco for a true Moroccan experience, I spent the evening at the Oberoi Marrakech for an authentic Indian dining experience. The Oberoi Marrakech is the perfect place for authentic Indian cuisine and they did not disappoint! The Oberoi, Marrakech is located within twenty-eight acres of Mediterranean orchards with fragrant citrus trees and centuries-old olive groves. Its authentic architecture is inspired by the palaces of ancient Morocco. The resort offers picturesque views of the majestic snow-capped Atlas Mountains. They offer spacious accommodation, personalized wellness offerings, restaurants serving authentic Moroccan and international cuisines.

As if one medina wasn’t enough, it was time to check out the medina in Marrakech! Now, this is one of the places to get your Moroccan Oils and spices and just about everything else! After running around and shopping in the medina, I was looking forward to my dining experience at the world-known  Jnane Tamsna. I was hosted by the owner Meryanne and her team for a delightful dinner and tour of this exquisite lodging showcasing its upscale decor and style within a beautiful garden. Jnane Tamsna blends Meryanne Loum-Martin’s splendid interior design and Gary Martin’s serene nine-acre garden. Integrating 5 houses, 5 pools, and a tennis court, this unique boutique hotel offers 24 individual rooms, private villa rentals, and full exclusivity for events.

My afternoon was spent having lunch in Atlas Mountain at the Kasbah Tamadot! Omg! The food, the site, and the lodging offerings were just impeccable! I was blown away by the style and type of lodging one can enjoy at this beautiful home away from home!

A trip to Morocco is not complete without a trip to the desert. Even though I was not heading to the Sahara Desert, the White Camel Luxury Camp in the Agafay Desert will fulfill my mini desert luxury experience. If you are looking for that Luxury Camp experience, this is it! The White Camel Camp offers you all the luxury amenities and dining you need within a desert without taking away from the amenities and pampering you need on a vacation!

Now it was time to stay at one last gem on this trip – the Es Saadi Palace and she did not disappoint. The perfect location is close to high-end shopping, nightlife on the resort at the Epicurean restaurant, and amazing well-appointed Moroccan suites. I spent the afternoons in the Spa – taking one more spa treatment to revitalize me before heading home after such an amazing trip. The spa at the Es Saadi Palace has one of the best instagrammable locations to be photographed and I did get a chance to have more photoshoots here!
