  • Monday, April 17, 2017 – Depart from the U.S.A. for South Africa

 

  • Tuesday, April 18, 2017 – Johannesburg – 1 Night
    • Arrive in Johannesburg at the O.R. Tambo International Airport, go through passport control, collect your luggage and go through customs. Walk to the City Lodge O.R. Tambo which is conveniently located next to the airport, and check in for 1 night on Bed & Breakfast basis. Dinner is on your own account

 

  • Wednesday, April 19, 2017 – Victoria Falls – 2 nights – B/D
    • After breakfast, walk with the group to the airport terminal and check in for your flight to Victoria Falls,Zimbabwe. Be sure to have your US$30.00 cash with you to pay for your Visa upon arrival in Victoria  Falls. Upon arrival, collect your luggage and be transferred to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Check into your Waterhole-facing Room for 2 nights. Lunch is available at the lodge on your own account. In the afternoon, transfer to the Zambezi River for an unforgettable Luxury Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi Royal. Enjoy the abundant wild life and bird life and the beautiful sunset scenes. Wine and savory refreshments will be served along the way. Be transferred to the Boma for an enjoyable evening with a traditional Dinner and live entertainment. Return to the hotel for overnight.

 

  • Thursday, April 20, 2017 – Victoria Falls – B/L/D
    • Enjoy your breakfast, overlooking the waterhole below the lodge. You might see various animals visit the waterhole. After breakfast tour the spectacular Victoria Falls. Visit the local craft market. You will visit a local private home for a Home Hosted Lunch. The afternoon is open to enjoy at leisure, either participating in some extra optional activities, visiting the local shops to buy souvenirs to take home, or relaxing at the lodge around the pool. Before dinner, meet up with the rest of the group to hear a local historian tell you about the history of David Livingstone and the Victoria Falls. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

 

  • Friday, April 21, 2017 –Chobe – 2 nights – B/L/D
    • Depart Victoria Falls and be transferred across the border to Kasane in Botswana. Check into the Chobe Safari Lodge which lies near the Chobe River and overlooks a waterhole. If you enjoy bird watching, this is the place to be! Enjoy lunch before departing for your afternoon game activity, a sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River. You will have the chance of seeing abundant game such as hippos, elephants, and crocodile, as well as abundant bird life. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

  • Saturday, April 22, 2017 – Chobe – B/L/D
    • Get up early for your morning game drive in the Chobe National Park. The Chobe National Park is known for its large numbers of elephant and for its prolific bird life. Your will also see other game, including the Puku, an antelope endemic to this region. Return to your lodge for breakfast. Enjoy the day, relaxing around the pool overlooking the waterhole. After lunch and a rest, depart for your afternoon sunset game cruise on the Chobe River. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

  • Sunday, April 23, 2017 – Johannesburg – B
    • Get up early for your final morning game drive in the Chobe National Park. Return to the Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast and a morning at leisure, check out of the lodge and be transferred to the Kasane Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, collect your luggage and walk with the group to the City Lodge O.R. Tambo which is conveniently located next to the airport. Check in for 1 night on Bed & Breakfast basis. Dinner is on your own account. Continue with April Wonders of South Africa.

    • Depart from the U.S.A. for South Africa.

 

  • Sunday, April 23, 2017 – Johannesburg

  • Monday, April 24, 2017 – River Lodge in the Kapama Private Game Reserve – 4 nights – B/L/D
    • After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from the City Lodge O.R. Tambo for your road transfer from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit. This is approximately a 6-hour drive through some of South Africa’s most beautiful and panoramic countryside. Refreshment and restroom stops will be made along the way as needed. Upon arrival at the Kapama Private Game Reserve, check in for 4 nights at the Kapama River Lodge. Settle into your suite. Enjoy lunch and your first game drive that afternoon. You will have the chance to see the Big 5 – elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. Each of the full days at the Private Game Reserve will include: All meals and two daily game drives in 10-passenger open Landrover vehicles with your skilled ranger and tracker to find the animals of Africa for you to admire. This is Big 5  Country…..Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo all of which are possible to see during your stay at this private game reserve. Each morning, expect an early wakeup call and gather for refreshments before heading out at first light. The “big cats” may still be around after their night of hunting. During the day, there is ample free time go on a guided walking safari, to relax or participate in several optional activities. Late afternoon, convene for high tea, before departing for the day’s second African Bush Safari. Enjoy a sundowner drink along the way, get out of the vehicle to stretch your legs, and watch the sun go down over the distant Drakensberg Mountains. As darkness descends, it’s time to continue the Game Drive to let the tracker scan the landscape with a spotlight picking out the glinting eyes of nocturnal animals. Return to the lodge for dinner.

  • Tuesday, April 25, 2017 – Kapama Private Game Reserve – B/L/D
    • Get up early for a game drive. Stop along the way for some refreshments. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Enjoy the day at leisure or join your skilled game ranger on a guided walking safari. Extra optional activities and pampering at the local spa are available at your own cost. Enjoy lunch and some more relaxation before departing for your afternoon/evening game drive. Return to lodge for dinner.

 

  • Wednesday & Thursday, April 26 & 27, 2017 – Kapama Private Game Reserve – B/L/D
    • Full days in the game reserve, enjoying game drives and relaxing. Optional extra activities are available on own account.

 

  • Friday, April 28, 2017 – Cape Town – 4 nights – B
    • After your morning game drive and breakfast, depart for the airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival at the Cape Town Airport, be met by your driver/guide and transferred to your hotel in Cape Town, the luxury Commodore Hotel, conveniently located on the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Check into your Standard Room for 4 nights on Bed & Breakfast basis. Dinner is on your own account and can be enjoyed at the hotel or at one of the many restaurants on the V&A Waterfront.

 

  • Saturday, April 29, 2017 – Cape Town – Table Mountain/City
    • Tour/Hout Bay – B After breakfast, visit Table Mountain via the Cable Car (weather permitting), the World’s new Seventh Wonder, or visit Signal Hill (if weather does not permit travel in the Cable Car). Visit Jewel Africa for a diamond cutting demonstration. You will also find exquisitely unique hand crafted jewelry pieces, authentic African craft, décor and gift items. Have a City Tour and see some of the highlights of this beautiful Mother City including Bo-Kaap or “Malay Quarter”, a living cultural museum. Your guide will recommend one of the local restaurants for lunch (on your own account). Next will be a visit to the Original T-Bag Designs, a local community project in Hout Bay, before heading to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden for exploration. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel. Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

 

  • Sunday, April 30, 2017 – Cape Town – Cape Point – B
    • After breakfast depart from your hotel and travel along the beautiful coast and the spectacular Chapman’s Peak drive. Visit Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African Continent. Walk to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding area. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking False Bay, on your own account. After lunch visit the local African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. On your way back to town, stop in Simons Town, South Africa’s Naval Base, to visit the statue of “Just Nuisance” and hear the story about this legend. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel. Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

 

  • Monday, May 1, 2017 – Cape Town – Winelands – B
    • After breakfast, depart for a Full-Day Winelands Tour. Visit this beautiful part of the Western Cape and enjoy all it has to offer. We start our day in Stellenbosch, the heart of the Winelands, also South Africa’s second-oldest town. Next, we visit the Taal Monument in Paarl from where you will have beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Our next stop is at a local wine estate to taste some of their local cheeses and wines. Enjoy lunch at the local restaurant (on your own account). We end our day off in the Winelands at a local brandy distillery for a tour and tasting. Return to your hotel in Cape Town. Enjoy a free evening with dinner on your own account.

 

  • Tuesday, May 2, 2017 – Depart from South Africa – B
    • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Mid-morning, check out of your room and be picked up from the Commodore Hotel to transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, check in for your flight back to the U.S.A.

 

  • Wednesday, May 3, 2017 – Arrive back in the U.S.A.
